Santa Pola is a lovely little Spanish Town - quiet and relaxing.

A beautiful calm beach is only 200 yards from the apartment, with lots of restaurants and cafes along the seafront. A swimming pool is about one block away ( 5 minutes walk ). Adults E3 per day and children E2.50. There is a snack/refreshment bar at the pool too.

Local bakery, small supermarket, bank and newsagent (which sells English newspapers!) are all within easy walking distance. You will find large supermarkets in the town and a "TESCO" style hypermarket is 10 minutes drive away.

The the centre of Santa Pola stands one of the most impressive castles and fortresses in the area, dating from the 16th Century. It is now a Museum and also a Chapel. Entry is free but there is a small charge for the museum which is closed on Mondays. A marine museum is located close to the beaches and you can take a boat ride to the nearby island of Tabarca.

Take an outing to the natural park of Las Salinas and discover the beauty of the salt flats and if you are lucky you may see the resident flamingos!

The well organised Marina offers all manner of water based sports - sailing, fishing and fiving. There is also a canoeing school.

Santa Pola is 15 minutes from the airport and half an hour by car to Alicante. There are also regular buses going to and from Alicante.

The Costa Blanca is well known for it's golf courses, which there are too many to mention here.
